Jason Ferree graduated from Dallastown High School in 2011.
“My sister went to Dallastown, my dad went to Dallastown. So, Dallastown has been in our family for a couple of generations,” said Ferree.
He followed the family tradition and got a class ring upon graduation.
The ring went with him to college at the University of South Carolina and then the University of Pittsburgh. However, Ferree says he lost it somewhere during that time.
“The best I can figure is, in one of those moves, it must have just gotten lost and made its way to Harrisburg somehow,” said Ferree.
About a year ago, Ben Dixon found the ring at the McDonalds in the Uptown Plaza. He wanted to return the ring to its owner but did not know how to do it. He contacted ABC27 and we reached out to the Dallastown Area School District to find the rightful owner.
“The way people are nowadays, they don’t truly believe in doing the right thing, and I know this is the right thing,” said Dixon.
Ferree was thrilled to get his ring back. He plans to meet with Ben and thank him in person.
“Thank you for finding my ring, thank you for reaching out and trying to give it back to me,” he said.” It was an unexpected gift, for sure.”
