Man killed in York City rowhome fire


YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — The York County Coroner says a man died as a result of a 3-alarm fire in York City Thursday morning.

York County dispatch said the fire broke out around 8 a.m. on the 600 block of Pershing Avenue, at least two homes were effected.

The coroner is currently investigating the cause of Brandon Eaton’s death. He reportedly died after going back inside a residence during the fire.

The fire displaced a total of 17 people. 13 adults and 4 children.

There are still several fire crews on scene, state police, state constables, and the American Red Cross.

Abc27 has been speaking with the father of one of the fire victims, he and multiple other people on scene are saying that the people living in the home were setting off fireworks last night and this morning, they believe that’s what could have caused this fire.

Neighbors say several animals also that died in the fire.

Crews still have several blocks of the road shut down.
