Employee charged with threats to Shrewsbury retirement community

A traveling nursing assistant from Georgia is charged after police say she made threats to a retirement community in York County.

Shanjuania Barnes, 48, was working as a contracted employee for Spirit Lutheran Trust in Shrewsbury when she threatened to assault employees and blow up the facility, Southern York County Regional police said.

Barnes was arrested Tuesday at a motel in Springettsbury Township and charged with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

She was placed in York County Prison on $75,000 bail and ordered to stay away from all nursing homes in the county.
