Fundraising website set up for York police officer who died

YORK, PA (WHTM) –

Fundraising efforts have begun for the family of York police officer who died during a training exercise. Friends have set up a fundraising page on YouCaring.com

According to a message on the page, the money raised will go directly to Officer Alex Sable’s family for living expenses and educational needs of his three young children. 

Officer Sable suffered a cardiac arrest while participating in the training in Baltimore County on Sunday. He was treated immediately by onsite medics and taken to a Baltimore-area hospital where he was in critical condition until passing away Wednesday evening, the police department said in a news release.

Officer Sable was taking part in the training as part of his efforts to become a member of the York County Quick Response Team. 

The 37 year old served on York police department for four years.
