YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Crews are finally getting started on a dam improvement project at Lake Williams after months of delays.
York Water Company began draining the lake last July and hoped to begin work around Labor Day, but getting the water low enough during the wettest November on record proved a nearly impossible task.
“We have not been very fortunate as far as precipitation goes,” said JT Hand, of York Water Company. “It should have only taken 90 full days to do this project.”
The water company said it needs 30 days without rain to get the work done and the lake back to normal for summer.
