Man sought for home arson in Newberry Township

York

Police are looking for a man accused of setting fire to a Newberry Township home on Monday.

Township police said they have an arrest warrant charging 46-year-old Douglas Kesecker with arson.

Kesecker, of York, parked a maroon Chevrolet Equinox with unknown New York license plates in front of the home, in the 700 block of Cassel Road, shortly after 1 p.m.

Kesecker then left the home and within minutes, a witness saw smoke, police said in a news release.

Kesecker later fled when an officer approached the Chevy in the 3400 block of York Haven Road, police said. He was already wanted on other charges.

Police said there is no indication Kesecker poses any immediate danger to the public.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call Newberry Township police at 717-938-2608.
