A state senator and York County’s district attorney teamed up to help parents and children understand the dangers of social media.
District Attorney Dave Sunday and state Rep. Kate Klunk hosted the seminar at South Western High School in Hanover Wednesday night.
Sunday said he has seen a rise in online predators trying to lure children by pretending to be someone else.
He also wants parents to understand that their home is no longer an escape room from bullying at school.
“Bullying that may occur at school goes 24 hours a day and because this bullying goes 24 hours a day and often times parents are not in a position to find that information online it kind of puts parents a bit behind,” said Sunday.
Sunday added that it’s important to remind kids that everything they post online can’t be erased.
