The Planting the Seed tour was at Northern High School in Dillsburg on Thursday.
The program celebrates agricultural education.
Students gave Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding a look at their agricultural department. They work in a greenhouse and care for small animals.
There was also a roundtable discussion about agriculture opportunities in Pennsylvania and across the nation.
“I’m really involved down here, just because everything’s so interesting,” said Mary Secord, a Northern student. “It’s all about the hands-on learning for us, and a lot of students need that. Honestly, being one of the ag kids is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had.”
Eight agriculture students also signed letters committing to college or employers after graduating this spring.
