Seniors go tubing at Roundtop Mountain

York

Seniors hit the slopes at Roundtop Mountain Resort for an afternoon of snow tubing on Friday.

The residents of Bethany Village retirement community in Mechanicsburg have has been tubing at Roundtop since 2005, and we’re told there is no shortage of residents signing up.

“Life is short,” said Sue Moeslein, a 75-year-old resident. “Get out there and experience anything you haven’t done before, or if you did it before and enjoyed it, get out there and do it again. None of us know what tomorrow has to bring. and that is why I am here today.”

Linda Wooden says she was looking forward to the day on the slopes all year. Wooden won’t tell you her age, but she will tell you this:

“I never act my age, and I promise you that I never will act my age,” she said.

The oldest resident on the slopes was 92 years old.

Bethany Village has also taken its residents on whitewater rafting and zip lining trips, and they often go tubing on the Yellow Breeches Creek.
