WEST YORK, Pa. (WHTM)-- - The West York School District has launched a program to help prevent bullying on school buses as it faces a possible lawsuit from parents upset about bad behavior.
Bulldog Bus Buddies started on Monday, February 4. West York staff are now on elementary-level school buses.
The goal is to help improve behavior on board the buses. So drivers can focus on their routes.
The district said the staff will also serve as mentors, forming trusting relationships with students so they can improve safety.
Last month, parents held a meeting to discuss bullying. Many said the behavior goes unchecked by school staff and students aren't punished.
Some parents are considering filing a lawsuit against the district.
