A York business is publicly calling out PennDOT for delays on a major construction project.
K.D. Rosengrant Building and Remodeling put up a sign that says “Shame on PennDOT for the Mt. Rose Avenue Mess.”
The project to realign the Mt. Rose exit from Interstate 83 started in 2015 and was supposed to be completed this year, but that’s been pushed back to next year.
“It’s just been such a nightmare this entire time. Now, we’re talking about more time and more money, and I think it just triggered something with us that just made us — that we took to the sign,” said Betsy Rosengrant-Stein, president of K.D. Rosengrant.
PennDOT says its contractor is not meeting its schedule, and there are penalties for delays that could cost the contractor as much as $5,000 a day.
