York eyeing open container ordinance

York

YORK, Pa. (WHTM) — York is looking to change its open container ordinance to benefit restaurants and bars.

If approved by city council, the regulation would temporarily allow residents to drink alcoholic beverages in open containers outside of restaurants.

The proposal comes as dining-in is still not allowed — although outdoor dining looks to begin Friday. The city council will discuss the ordinance on Wednesday.
