York man pleads no contest in pursuit crash that killed 2

A 22-year-old York man has pleaded no contest to charges resulting from a crash killed two of his passengers in 2015.

Shazmir S. Martino entered the pleas last week to two counts of homicide by vehicle, two counts of accidents involving death or personal injury while not properly licensed, fleeing and eluding, and aggravated assault by vehicle, according to court records.

Spring Garden Township police said Martino was fleeing an officer on Nov. 8, 2015, when he crashed into a garage at Third Avenue and Harrison Street. They said he was going about 83 mph seconds before the crash.

Elijah Moultrey, 19, of York, died at the scene and his cousin, 22-year-old Brandon Moultrey, died hours later at a hospital. A third passenger was hospitalized.

Martino is scheduled for sentencing on November 29.
