LEMOYNE, Pa. (WHTM) – Community members and students are working on a 445-foot long mural that will be installed along Interstate 83.
Twenty-one sponsors contributed more than $81,000 to produce and the install the mural, which will feature Lemoyne’s history.
Come August, the mural will transform a dull, concrete wall along Interstate 83 into a colorful, vibrant work of art.
The idea began in 2005 as part of an effort to revitalize the borough. The group started painting in May. Since then, more than 100 volunteers have logged thousands of hours to complete two-thirds of the mural, or more than 100 panels.
Anyone 12 and older can volunteer to help paint the rest of the mural. The group meets to paint every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
