An 86-mile section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed for about seven hours this weekend.
The eastbound lanes will be closed between the New Stanton and Breezewood interchange starting at 11 p.m. on Saturday until approximately 6 a.m. on Sunday, weather permitting, according to a news release.
The closure is needed so crews can finish placing steel beams for a new bridge over the Turnpike at milepost 110 in Somerset County.
Eastbound traffic exiting the Turnpike at New Stanton will be given a suggested detour that follows Route 119 north to PA Turnpike Route 66 north, then Route 22 east to I-99 south, and finally . Route 30 east to Breezewood.
