Shooting threat directed at Beaver Stadium

The FBI and Penn State University police are investigating a threat against football fans.

Authorities say a “potential threat” posted Wednesday on social media threatened a mass shooting at one of the games at Beaver Stadium next year.

Police are trying to verify who posted the threat on Twitter and determine its credibility. The tweet tagged the State College Police Department.

“There is no immediate danger to the Penn State community,” University Police posted on their Facebook. “Penn State takes all threats very seriously and University Police and federal authorities are actively investigating.”

“As always, University Police encourages everyone to always be vigilant. If you see something, say something.”
