A newly elected state senator is calling for the expulsion of a longtime senator after a sexual misconduct allegation.
Sen. Katie Muth (D-Montgomery) sent a letter to the Ethics Committee calling for the expulsion of Sen. Daylin Leach (D-Montgomery).
Leach is accused of forcing a 17-year-old to perform sexual acts in 1991, prior to joining the Legislature. Leach denies the allegation and has sued the accuser.
The governor, lieutenant governor and auditor general have called on Leach to step down.
