(WHTM) — Tax collections gave Pennsylvania an economic recovery boost. According to the State Revenue Department, tax collections this year brought in $3 billion more than projected for a total of over $36 billion.

This is welcome news since the budget forecast originally called for huge deficits as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state budget is due at the end of this month.
