CLEVELAND (WHTM) – Some delegates at the Republican National Convention are more enthused about Donald Trump than others, but one Pennsylvania state senator is making it clear that he’s behind the party’s nominee all the way.

“There’s a difference between angry, frustrated and fed up. I was fed up. I think Donald trump is fed up,” Pennsylvania state senator Scott Wagner (R-York) said.

The similarities are there: brash businessman speaks his mind, steps on toes, and stuns the political elite.

“The Republican establishment tried to keep me out of Harrisburg,” Wagner said. “There’s a lot of Republicans who aren’t supporting Donald Trump, who are still attempting to keep him out of his path to the White House.”

This is Wagner’s first presidential convention and he arrived in style, chartering a jet to deliver Bob Dole to Cleveland.

“Listen, an opportunity to be with Bob Dole, you never pass that up,” he said.

Word is Wagner won’t pass up a chance to be Pennsylvania’s chief executive. Is he running for governor?

“You keep asking me that,” he said.

That’s not a denial.

“I’m considering it,” he said.

Maybe even more than that.

“I lay in bed at night and think about the opportunities for Pennsylvania,” he said. “We can do better.”

And as Republicans in Cleveland pick a complete outsider for the highest office in the land, he’s confident Pennsylvania would do the same.

“I believe if I run and I get my message out, people will be supportive, yes,” he said.

“This is not about ego. I know what the problem is and I want to solve the problems of Pennsylvania.”

But there is an ego that agitates even some Republicans. Wagner constantly reminds everyone of his financial success and unabashedly wants to bring business principles to government. Sound familiar?

“I believe Donald Trump is gonna win Pennsylvania and the people of Pennsylvania are gonna come out of the woodwork because they’re fed up,” he said. “They are sick and tired.”Get breaking news, weather and traffic on the go.
