Pennsylvania soldier 4th killed in Afghanistan attack

EXPORT, Pa. (WHTM) - A second western Pennsylvania service member has died from a roadside bomb in Afghanistan last week.

Sgt. Jason Mitchell McClary, 24, of Export, died Sunday in Landstuhl, Germany, as a result of injuries he sustained from the improvised explosive device Thursday on Ghazni province, the Defense Department announced.

McClary was assigned to 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado.

McClary is the fourth service member to die from the attack, the deadliest against U.S. forces in Afghanistan this year.

The other Pennsylvania native is Air Force Staff Sgt. Dylan Elchin, of Hookstown.
