Suez says new treatment system is removing man-made chemicals from water

Suez Water says it has fixed an issue where potentially toxic chemicals were found in the water of a Newberry Township neighborhood.

The company says test results show a recently-installed carbon treatment system has reduced the presence of PFAS to non-detectible levels.

There was concern earlier this month after a township resident independently had his water tested, which found excessive amounts of PFAS.

Suez says it is working with the DEP to find the source of those chemicals, and how they ended up in the water.
