Harrisburg’s Downtown Daily Bread will celebrates 33 years of serving the city’s homeless population with a breakfast fundraiser on April 6. A Rise and Shine! Breakfast Fundraiser is planned at Pine Street Presbyterian Church’s Fellowship Hall.

For a minimum donation of $10, attendees will receive a “hearty, hot, home cooked breakfast” while watching a video and hearing from Executive Director Elaine Strokoff.

“We feel it’s important to extend an invitation to all our downtown neighbors. Come and experience our organization and hear about its mission,” Strokoff said in a press release. “Participating in the breakfast is an affordable and tasty way to have an impact on the community. Your $10 donation will provide 5 meals to someone in need.”

According to Downtown Daily Bread, the organization serves appproximately 3000 hot meals each month and recently opened a Drop-In Center where homeless individuals can gather in a sheltered, safe space to rest or access the internet.

To register for the breakfast, please call (717) 238-9304 ext. 123 or send an email to estrokoff@pinestreet.org.
