GOWEN CITY, Pa. (WHTM) – The National Weather Service has confirmed a weak tornado touched down in Northumberland County during Monday’s severe thunderstorm.
The tornado touched down about two miles south of Gowen City and knocked down several trees in a 100-yard path along the Mahanoy Creek east of Route 125, according to the weather agency.
The twister had a top wind speed of 80 mph and was rated an EF-0 on the enhanced Fujita scale.
No injuries were reported.
