Truck fire slows Turnpike traffic near Blue Mountain Tunnel


NEWBURG, Pa. (WHTM) – A tractor-trailer fire caused delays on the Pennsylvania Turnpike this morning.

The truck was hauling vegetable oil when it caught fire in an eastbound lane near the Blue Mountain interchange in Franklin County.

Only one eastbound lane was closed, but the fire caused stop-and-go traffic for several hours.

The driver was not injured.

The cause of the fire was not immediately determined.
