(WHTM) — The government says there are plenty of jobs available at Federal prisons.

According to the Justice Department, nearly 1/3 of Federal prison jobs are vacant. They should have over 20,000 employees but less than 14,000 are currently employed.

Some Federal prisons with the worst worker shortages are using cooks, nurses and other employees to guard inmates.
