Two Nebraska men cleaning up a field devastated by this week’s flood made a discovery that was kind of like finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow – only much more refreshing.
Kyle Simpson and Gayland Stouffer discovered a refrigerator packed with cold beer.
The pair was cleaning up near the Platte River when the saw the fridge. They trekked through waist-deep water, ice jams, and washouts to get it, then opened the fridge and found their prize.
Simpson called it “a bright spot in a crappy day.”
The two men were able to contact the owner of the fridge and promised to return it, minus a few beers, once the roads are clear.
