Uber collaborates with USC and unveil new safety campaign

The University of South Carolina is partnering with Uber after a student was killed.

Samantha Josephson was killed after mistaking a car for her Uber ride.

Both Uber and the university are trying to build awareness around safety and encourage riders to confirm their uber before getting into a random car.

” Ask your driver what your name is should become as automatic as putting your seatbelt on.” says the President of the University of South Carolina.

Uber will be adding a push notification that will remind drivers to check their ride times.
