A political endorsement from a former Republican state lawmaker is crossing party lines.
A group of Republican voters held a news conference to support Democrat George Scott, who’s running against U.S. Rep Scott Perry.
Former Republican state Rep. Steve Nichol read an endorsement of George Scott from former Republican state Senator Pat Vance.
Some of the Republicans voiced concerns about Scott Perry’s stance on pre-existing conditions other reasons.
“I’m tired of being ashamed of Congress. I wanna have somebody down there who’s sound reasoning and judgment can maybe change the place from a divisive circus that it’s become to a place of shared purpose where things can get done,” said Barclay Fitzpatrick, a registered Republican.
We reached out to Perry for a response and have not yet heard back.
Our exclusive poll in the 10th district shows it is neck-and-neck; Perry has a three-percent lead over Scott.
