GOP’s Joyce has strong lead in 13th congressional district, poll finds

Election

A local seat in Congress will likely stay in Republican hands after the November election, according to a recent poll.

The poll by Susquehanna Polling and Research for ABC27 News found John Joyce has a 21-point lead over Brent Ottaway, 57-36 percent, in the race for the 13th congressional district.

The 13th district includes a large part of the current 9th congressional district held by retiring Republican U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster. The district includes western Cumberland and all of Adams and Franklin counties.

The telephone survey of 303 likely voters was conducted Oct. 25-26 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 5.6 percent.
