A Republican candidate for a local seat in Congress has a strong lead over his Democratic challenger, according to a recent poll.
The poll conducted by Susquehanna Polling and Research for ABC27 News found Dan Meuser leads Denny Wolff in the race for the 9th congressional district by 21 points, 57-36 percent.
Meuser is a businessman and a former Revenue secretary under Gov. Tom Corbett. Wolff is a farmer and a former Agriculture secretary under Gov. Ed Rendell.
The 9th congressional district includes northern Berks and all of Lebanon and Schuylkill counties.
The telephone survey of 271 likely voters was conducted Oct. 23-25 and has a margin of error of plus-or-minus 5.9 percent.
