YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – WellSpan Health is in the middle of a “10lb. Throwdown.”
People are encouraged to lose 10 pounds in 10 weeks by making weekly, small lifestyle changes like walking and watching your food portions.
Health experts have some tips on how to be successful
“Make one change at a time because if you overwhelm yourself with too many changes, you’re likely to set yourself up for failure,” said Amy Watson, Registered Dietician and Wellness Coach. “If you change one thing at a time you’re more likely to actually be at least 70% successful in making that positive change.”
“We’re really big on social support,” said Stephanie Voight, Supervisor of Community Health Development & Evaluation. “We find that people tend to be much more successful with both weight loss in general and also making lifestyle changes if they participate with their buddies.”
