York officer uses Naloxone to save woman suffering heroin overdose

YORK, PA. (WHTM) – A woman is alive and at the York Hospital after police used Naloxone to save her from a heroin overdose.

Police responded just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday to the 3400-block of Susquehanna Trail in Manchester Township. A 51-year-old woman was found unconscious and not breathing.

Officers administered nasal spray Naloxone and performed CPR until an ambulance arrived and transported the woman for further treatment.

Northern York County Regional police said the incident marks the ninth time officers have had to administer Naloxone since March.
