(WHTM) – After months of campaigning and millions of dollars spent on advertising, the Pennsylvania Governor’s race between Josh Shapiro and Doug Mastriano is finally over, with Josh Shapiro expected to defeat his opponent.

Shapiro’s handpicked running mate for Lieutenant Governor, State Representative Austin Davis of Allegheny County, will be Pennsylvania’s first African American Lieutenant Governor. 

Pennsylvania has not had consecutive Democrat Governors since 1955-63 when George Leader and David Lawrence were in office. It will be the first time Pennsylvania will have three consecutive terms of a Democrat Governor since 1838-1848 (Porter & Shunk) 

On Nov. 8, Pennsylvania voters will elect a new governor and lieutenant governor and U.S. Senator, as well as all the state’s 17 congressional representatives, 25 of its 50 state senators and all 203 state House members, according to the Department of State.
