In an elite big man matchup, Cedar Cliff’s Tyler Houser paved the way for the Colts with 25 points to help take down University of Minnesota football commit Anthony Smith.

With a 49-49 tie game with just over a minute to go, Cedar Cliff’s Trenton Smith gave the Colts the lead for good with a layup as the Colts took home a 55-49 victory.

Mid Penn Girls Basketball Championship: Cedar Cliff – 52 Trinity – 36

Sydney Weyant and Olivia Jones helped to gave the way for the Lady Colts in their conference title win over the Shamrocks.

Jones pouring in 19 points as the game’s leading scorer while Weyant sank three triples from distance in the 52-36 win.

YAIAA Girls Basketball Championship: Bermudian Springs – 56 Delone Catholic – 47

Delone Catholic has ruled the YAIAA for years. The perpetual conference winner came in undefeated and fresh off a District III title from 2021 as well.

The script could not have been any different for Bermudian Springs. The Lady Eagles earning their first league playoff win just last week in an upset over Central York.

Little did we know, that was just the opening act for an even bigger show on Thursday night.

Bermudian Springs overcoming a 7-point 4th quarter deficit thanks to big shots from Hannah Chenault and Lillians Peters. The Lady Eagles outscoring the Squirretes 10-0 in the final 2:45 of the game to give the program their first ever YAIAA championship.

LL League Girls Basketball Championship: Lancaster Catholic – 58 Ephrata – 43

The Lady Crusaders continued their run of greatness and notched their 16th LL League title in a thorough cruise-control 58-43 victory over Ephrata.

Jeriyah Johnson fueled the way as the game’s leading scorer with 18 points.
