Lost in Penn State’s 63-24 win against Illinois Friday was a moment away from the field.
KJ Hamler, a wide receiver from Pontiac, Michigan, doesn’t get a chance to see his family often. More importantly, after the game, with his parents watching from the stands, it was his older sister Michelle who caught his eye.
“It was crazy. Me and my sister, we’re 18 years apart, so we’re really not that close. But every little moment, every little chance we get to talk to each other we love it, and for her to actually come out to my first game ever. I’m so blessed. You know I tear up a little bit, I miss her a lot and I’m glad she got to come,” Hamler said.
Hamler reeled in his fourth touchdown of the year Friday to put Penn State up 42-24.
