Lebanon’s Michael Deitz sets local hot dog eating record on July 4

LEBANON, Pa. (WHTM) — Lebanon’s Michael Deitz wasn’t able to qualify for this year’s Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, so he decided to have his own competition.

With the main event on the television at the William Penn Restaurant in downtown Lebanon, Dietz downed a restaurant-record 13 William Penn chili dogs. The hot dogs weigh roughly twice as much as the Nathan’s dogs used in competition.
