Baseball fanatics flock to Senators’ home opener

With the crack of a bat and buzz of a crowd, City Island came back to life on Thursday night.

The Harrisburg Senators are back at FNB Field, and on opening night, both the sun and the fans brought the heat.

“You don’t have to have played it before, but I think that kind of helps. It just brings back that youthful spirit to you,” said Dave Kramer.

Kramer’s dad has been a season ticket holder since 1988. His dad is now 89 years old and Kramer tries to join him at as many games as possible.

“We’re not here to win a championship,” he said. “We’re here to watch some young guys play ball better and grow in their skills. So, I am optimistic about the season with the players we have.”

The Harrisburg Senators won their season opener against the Bowie Baysox, 8-4.
