Penn State commit Nate Bruce and mom talk about preparing for college amid pandemic

The coronavirus isn’t easy for anybody. In sports, it has altered pro careers, shaken college athletics, and ended high school careers early.

There isn’t a guarantee that the cycle won’t continue next year. Local athletes like Harrisburg’s Nate Bruce are hoping for progress.

“Big Nate,” as folks around the area know him, is a rising senior and is a year away from heading up to State College and fulfilling his dream by playing on the offensive line up at Penn State. The 6-foot-4, 325 pound teen made it from a relatively unknown recruit a year ago to getting to choose from a number of Division-I programs.

Nate and his mom, Arlene, talked about what it’s like communicating with his future Nittany Lions team and how he’s staying in shape.
