Kara Hughan, MD Kara Hughan, MD

Pediatric Endocrinology
UPMC Children’s Specialty Services

Dr. Hughan completed a fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and her pediatric residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. She serves as director of the pediatric cystic fibrosis endocrinology program and assistant professor of pediatrics at UPMC Children’s Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio, and holds a master’s degree in clinical research from Duke University School of Medicine.


Amy M. Jean, MD Amy M. Jean, MD

Pediatric Endocrinology

Dr. Jean completed her fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and her residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Marshall University School of Medicine in Huntington, WV. She is board-certified in pediatric endocrinology and speaks Chinese (Mandarin).

Indranil Sau, MD Indranil Sau, MD

Pediatric Surgery

Dr. Sau received his medical degree from Calcutta Medical College in India. He completed several surgical residencies including general surgery, pediatric surgery, and neonatal intensive care. Dr. Sau completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. Dr. Sau is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Pediatric Surgical Association, and Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Christopher Zachary, MD Christopher Zachary, MD

Pediatric Cardiology
UPMC Pinnacle Heart and Vascular Institute

Dr. Zachary is the medical director of the pediatric echo lab at UPMC Pinnacle. His research and lectures in the area of pediatric cardiovascular disease and electrocardiography have been highly regarded locally and nationally. Dr. Zachary attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University and completed his pediatric residency and cardiology fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He is a fellow with the American Academy of Cardiology and is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology.
