Clouds hold tough into Wednesday, periods of rain for Halloween

Turning much cooler for the weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly Cloudy. Lo 50.

WEDNESDAY: Cloudy, Showers Late Evening. Hi 63.

HALLOWEEN: Periods of Rain, Breezy, Mild. Hi 68.

Clouds held tough today which held temperatures in the low 60s for most places. Temperatures tonight will steadily drop into the 50s as we remain mostly cloudy.

Hope for sunshine appears grim Wednesday, as a southeast flow maintains low clouds and a light breeze. Showers do return tomorrow but not until after sunset. The daylight hours will be dry.

For Halloween, we will be dodging showers for most of the day. The morning will start off with a round of steadier rain. For the afternoon and evening, waves of showers can be expected. Rain for trick-or-treaters between 6-8 pm appears to be of lighter intensity, but it will still be damp. The good news is that it will be mild with temperatures even through sunset hanging on to the upper 60s to near 70 degrees, though it will be breezy. The cold front will cross after dark, which will likely bring through the heaviest round of rain around or shortly after midnight. Ponding of water and minor flooding will be possible as some places see upwards of 2″ of rain prior to daybreak Friday.

Behind Friday morning’s front, it turns breezy and turn much cooler. Temperatures near 70 around midnight Thursday night will likely crash into the 50s and upper 40s by sunrise Friday. Highs Friday afternoon will only recover into the low to mid-50s. Highs Saturday through Monday won’t get out of the low 50s and lows will be in the 30s, potentially upper 20s in some of the cooler valleys by early Monday. The good news? The weekend looks 100% dry with abundant sunshine each day. A slight warming trend will take place early next week.
