A few downpours and storms overnight, still very warm and muggy

Heat index values approaching 110 degrees each afternoon...

TONIGHT: Partly Cloudy, Scattered Evening T-storms Then Again Late. Lo 75.

MONDAY: Thunderstorms Likely, Especially After Noon. A Few Gusty Storms Possible. Hi 84.

TUESDAY: Morning Clouds, Afternoon/Evening Clouds. Hi 80.

Showers and storms have popped up in a few places feeding off the high heat and humidity. Highs reached the upper 90s again today, and it will be a hot and humid night ahead. The threat for scattered storms continues into tonight as tropical humidity remains in ahead of the front. Downpours with thunder and lightning could form in the early morning hours of Monday, which could provide some rain into the morning commute. We will continue to monitor radar.

Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected Monday as the front stalls and several waves of low pressure ride along it. With any training of activity (rain, storms moving over the same locations), localized flooding will be possible, though the recent dry spell should keep the threat fairly low. The best chance for heavy storms will come during the afternoon and evening, with a lull in the rain expected late Monday night. Another weak wave may develop on the back side of the system early Tuesday, keeping clouds and some showers around until late in the day.

The story next week will be the drastic drop in temperature and humidity as highs remain in the low to mid 80s several days. Dry weather is expected however for the middle and end of next week with a gradual warming trend expected through Saturday.
