TONIGHT: Warm & Humid, A Few Clouds Late. Lo 75. Winds: Light.
THURSDAY: Brief AM Shower or Storm, Hot & Humid. Hi 94. Winds: W 5-10 mph.
FRIDAY: Sunny & Hot. Hi 94. Winds: W 5-10 mph.
The heat continues as Harrisburg officially reached 93 degrees this afternoon. It will be very warm this evening with temperatures slowly falling through the 80s and overnight lows only dipping into the mid-70s.
We’re still watching a weak cold front moving in out of the Great Lakes. There are storms developing over northern Ohio, but most of them will fizzle before reaching the more stable environment over central PA. We’ll allow for a brief shower around daybreak Thursday, but most areas won’t see much. It’s back to the sunshine and heat tomorrow with highs again around 94 degrees.
The weekend will feature the most intense heat of this weather pattern, with highs expected to hit the upper 90s both Saturday and Sunday. There could be a stray t-storm or two that pops up Sunday afternoon, but any prospects for rain this weekend look bleak. The next cold front crosses Monday, bringing our next best chance for scattered thunderstorms. Behind the front, it will turn cooler and a bit less humid Tuesday with highs in the upper 80s, perhaps finally breaking the heat wave. But highs next Wednesday look to rebound again near 90 degrees.
