TONIGHT: Late Evening Rain/Snow To Plain Rain Showers. Lo 37. Winds: S 5-10 mph.
MONDAY: Mostly Cloudy, Scattered Light Showers. Hi 51. Winds: S 5-10 mph.
TUESDAY: Early AM Rain. Then Mostly Cloudy, Stray Showers. Hi 51. Winds: S 5-10 mph.
Late this evening after 8 PM we will begin to see light moisture arriving with thicker cloud cover from the west. Showers will overspread southern locations (Harrisburg and areas south), but some brief light snow is likely for northern areas. Nothing should really accumulate other than a coating, and even that will be tough to manage given that temperatures are hovering near 40°.
A surge in warmer air aloft should transition any snow over to plain rain showers overnight. Only light precipitation amounts are expected with amounts generally between 0.1-0.25″ through Monday morning. Periodic showers can be expected into Monday afternoon.
Another round of rain will develop as a southern storm grazes the Midstate. Some of this rain is trending heavier in the latest model guidance (especially for southern areas), so grand total rain amounts could be in the 0.5″-1.0″ range by Tuesday afternoon. For Tuesday afternoon and evening some drier air should put an end to the rain chances.
We will likely see some clearing for Wednesday, but another quick moving system bring rain showers from the south. Depending on the timing of that storm, some wintry mix is possible to start things off Wednesday night. However, given the trends lately plain rain should win out by Thursday morning. A cold shot of air will come Friday as lows dip into the 20s and highs remain in the 30s.
