You Can Do It: Replacing Cabinet Catch

You Can Do It

Over time, as your cabinet hardware ages, the doors may not stay closed. Replacing the hardware is one option, but you might want to consider installing a door catch. There are many types of cabinet door catches. Some are more secure than others. Choose the right hardware for your application.

Today we will focus on a magnetic catch for a kitchen cabinet. Determine the best location for the catch. Place the magnetic part on the cabinet frame making it even with the front edge. Pre-drill small holes for the screws. Fasten it in place, being careful not to overtighten the screws. Repeat this process with the metal plate on the cabinet door, making sure it is aligned properly. Loosen the catch screws and make any adjustments as needed.

Installing this hardware will provide a solid connection for your cabinet doors. And You Can Do It!
